Definition of tour guide

A tour guide, is a person who guides (guides) tourists in the language of their choice and presents in their own way the cultural and natural heritage of the area in which the person holds a certain qualification, which is usually, but not necessarily, issued by a competent authority.

The definition of a tour guide is contained in EN 13809 2003/ ENISO 18513 2003, adopted by the World Federation of Tour guide Societies, at the 10th Congress in Dunblane, UK in 2003.
